I
have a lot of midterm exams to take in this week. Due to several reasons, like
not getting familiar with the life in college, not managing my time well, and
plenty of activities taking up most of my time, I did not spend a lot of time
on academics. Therefore, I have to burn the midnight oil to study. However,
last night I studied until 4 o’clock, and the outcome was that though I
fluently took the exam, I caught a cold and my vitality was very weak yesterday.
Then the doubt come into my mind: what really matters? The score? The assignment?
Or my health? Still, I can not figure out the best answer for me……

Cindy's awkward experience
Cindy,
one of my junior high school classmates, has a rough and low voice, and because
of the distinctive characteristic of her voice, she once had an amusing and a
little bit awkward story. In the summer vacation when we promoted to be freshmen
in the senior high, it was common for the whole freshmen to receive numerous
calls from a various kind of cram schools to inquire if we would like to audit
the courses. And Cindy was utterly fed with the annoying calls. One time, she
received a call that was apparently from certain cram school. Therefore, when
the person who was speaking in the phone asked if Cindy was home, Cindy just
directly answered “NO” to the person and would like to hang up the phone as
soon as possible, however, as she was about to hang up the phone, the person
said “And then…… Are you Cindy’s daughter?” ……Yes! The person mistook Cindy’s
voice as a man’s voice! Cindy angrily said to that person, ”Actually, I was
Cindy herself!” and quickly hang off the phone!
